February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. The City of Chicago through the Department of Family and Support Services is partnering with the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network to remind young people and their families that the City’s toll-free, confidential Domestic Violence Hotline is also a 24/7 resource for teen dating violence. To immediately report teen dating violence, Chicagoans should call 9-1-1, and for more information and support, anyone can call or text the Domestic Violence Hotline at 877.863.6338. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking staff is available to take calls, direct victims to services and support, and they will use Language Line Services to provide immediate interpretation for callers in more than 170 other languages. Since the Domestic Violence Hotline launched in 1998, more than 450,000 calls have been answered.
