First Bill Filed ” Automatic Expungement for Non-violent Juvenile” Representative Curtis J. Tarver II

Last week, I filed my first bills as 25th District State Representative.

HB926 amends the Illinois Human Rights Act and declares discrimination based on source of income in real estate transactions a civil rights violation. This law promotes equitable housing opportunities for all citizens in the state of Illinois.

HB927 amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 to include automatic expungement for non-violent juvenile convictions. It’s time we give teens second chances and better opportunities to apply to colleges and find jobs without the burden of an arrest record.
