State Representative Marcus C. Evans, and members of Revenue and Finance Committee Assisted the Pass out HR 1025

This week as a member of the Revenue and Finance Committee of the Illinois House of Representatives I helped to pass out HR 1025.

This resolution stands in support of a fair and progressive income tax that must reduce taxes on low and middle-income families while raising taxes on the wealthiest Illinoisans.

Currently, Illinois has a flat tax which taxes all income levels at the same rate. The Federal government and the majority of states in the U.S. who have a state income tax already have a progressive tax structure.
