Come celebrate our Awardees: Freedom Fighter Award: Danielle Richards, Organizer South Works Campaign Danielle is a South Chicago resident and community leader. Before becoming staff with ASE, Danielle was a volunteer for the Coalition for the South Works CBA. She is one of the founding members of her block club, a Local School Council member of Arnold Mireles Academy and James H. Bowen High School, the CAPS Beat Facilitator for Beat 423 and Vice-President of the Bessemer Park Advisory Council. Community Power Award: Centro de Trabajadores Unidos (CTU)/ United Workers Project Centro de Trabajadores Unidos educates workers on their rights, develop leadership within the immigrant community, support and organize all workers as they fight for their rights in the workplace and fight for changing policy that increases standards for immigrant workers. CTU has been involved in the sanctuary movement to create safe places for immigrants and DACA students and supported establishing workers cooperatives. CTU is a founding member of ASE and has coordinated several candidates forums.
