NOBLE Chicago held its first “Stronger Together” Video Tournament
NOBLE-National Organization of Black Law Enforcement
This summer our chapter held its first “Stronger Together” Video Game Tournament which consisted of two “Training Days” and a Tournament Day with youth competitors from south and west side communities of Chicago.
The “Training Days” were held on two weekends at the 5th District police station and saw fierce and fun video game competition and sportsmanship between youth and law enforcement officers in “game trucks.”
All competitors were then invited to a final battle at Chicago Police Headquarters for the Tournament on August 29 which was MC’ed by WGCI’s DJ Moon Dawg and provided food, fun, and prizes for all participants.
Fun was had by all. As Officer David Anderson put it “We have to invest in our youth. That is why I am here.”
It was great to see a positive and fun exchange of banter and conversation between young people and law enforcement. One young man stated that “it was fun to beat the officers but it was also nice to see a different side of the police.”
Congratulations to the three “Stronger Together” Video Game Tournament “Top Gamers” and thank you to all the competitors!
We would like to thank the Chicago Police Department’s CAPS division and all Chicago Police Department volunteers for their assistance and collaboration. We would also like to thank WGCI and DJ Moon Dawg for being our great MC! Many thanks to Colleen Collard and Grandma’s Tiny Kitchen for the awesome custom-made cookies which we all enjoyed! And special thanks to our corporate sponsor for this event and supporter Combined Insurance!
