The mission of Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) is to empower children to recognize and experience their possibility and promise. CYC is the city’s largest private urban youth organization. Since 1956, we have prepared children ages 3-18 for lifelong success by surrounding them with transformative social capital:

Deliberate and intentional programs
Academic, social and emotional support
Family engagement
Community resources
Safe and innovative spaces
Through seven centers on the south and west sides of Chicago, a residential camp in Michigan and numerous partner sites throughout the city, CYC helps bridge the employable skills gap and empowers families to break the persistent cycles of poverty and violence.

CYC’s programs and services are in the following communities:

Ashburn
Auburn Gresham
Austin
Bridgeport
Bronzeville/Grand Boulevard
Chicago Lawn
Greater Grand Crossing
Humboldt Park
Hyde Park
North Lawndale
Riverdale/Altgeld
South Chicago
South Shore
CYC’s Board of Directors, staff, families and communities believe in our future together because we see the potential in every child.
