What you can do:
· Activate alarm system.
· Properly and completely secure your premise when leaving, for any duration.
· Keep the perimeter of your premise well lit.
· Do not leave valuables in plain view. Secure any/all items in a safe location.
· Immediately repair any broken windows, doors, deadbolts, etc..
· Create the illusion that residents are present by using timers.
· Inform neighbors of any lengthy anticipated absence.
· Be conscious and make note(s) of suspicious persons or vehicles in area
loitering.
· Permit neighbors to park in an assigned parking space or use driveway, when
away.
· Immediately contact 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.
