Crosscultural Concerts with Chicago’s Billy Branch and Sones de México
Join us to experience two of Chicago’s cultural sounds, the Chicago Blues and the Mexican Son, performed by two of Chicago’s Grammy-nominated bands – legendary Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues and the acclaimed Sones de México. Explore the musical richness, similarities, differences and history of these two genres with African roots in the United States and Mexico respectively. The ‘blues’ and the ‘son’ will be brought together in this cross-cultural concert organized in collaboration between the Chicago History Museum, the DuSable Museum of African American History and the National Museum of Mexican Art.
