Alderman Mitchell’s 1st Town Hall, A “Shore” Success

South Shore residents waiting to be heard

Alderman Greg Mitchell and the 7th Ward Service Center would like to say Thank You to everyone who attended the South Shore Town Hall Series. The event was a huge success! Residents and Business Owners from around the South Shore Area came and voiced their concerns. Office staff ensured  no voice was left unheard. As a continued outreach effort, Alderman Greg Mitchell and the 7th Ward Service Center will host two more town halls as part of our 3-part Community series. The Seventh: The Official Communicator for the 7th Ward Community


The Office of Alderman Greg Mitchell and the 7th Ward Service Center  published its 1st Edition of The Seventhnewspaper. The Seventh is the official communicator for the 7th Ward community. The publication provides updates, press releases, and upcoming events within the 7th Ward. If you would like a digital copy of The Seventh, click here.

Metra Update

As a notice to the residents of the 7th Ward Community, Metra will be renewing the 83rd Street railroad crossing on the South Chicago Branch starting next week. The railroad crossing will be closed starting September 16th, 2015 at 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. September 24th, 2015. Due to grade crossing work, certain South Chicago trains may be delayed up to fifteen minutes on Saturday, September 19. For more information, click here.

Constituent Nights will resume in October

Due to the Alderman’s September Town Hall series, the regular scheduled Constituent Nights will be cancelled. Constituent Nights will resume in October. 

ComEd – Hardship Grant

To better assist the residents of our ward, ComEd has teamed up with CEDA to provide customers in financial hardship with the opportunity to apply for a grant up to $500. The “Residential Special Hardship” is geared to help ComEd’s customers, who have financial hardship, in paying their energy bill. To learn more about the program, click here.
