Everyone should be investigating at least one of the Gates Foundation Partners sites, their school site (if determined for internal and external scholarships/grants) and one of the sites listed under “Scholarships and Reviewing Colleges.”

www.commonapp.org — Gain familiarity with the college application process. Many (not all) universities/colleges use the Common Application for undergraduate admissions.

COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT (CSBG)
CSBG SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Applications are now available!
Scholarships are now available for post-secondary education at an accredited institution of higher education or vocational training in the State of Illinois for the 2015-2016 academic year. (Scholarship award must be used for the 2015 fall semester/quarter).
The CSBG Scholarship Program offers financial aid ranging from $500 to $3,000 for income-eligible residents of the City of Chicago who demonstrate academic achievement, career potential and educational motivation. Displaced and under employed workers, high school graduates (or equivalent), and those aspiring to higher education and employment are invited to apply.
Candidates must submit a complete scholarship application with all required documents and provide proof of residency and income eligibility (see chart below). Applications are available on-line at www.cityofchicago.org/fss. Application deadline is Friday, June 12, 2015 no later than 5:00 p.m.
