Give to The Planning Coalition & Support the Building of the Your Community

Give to The Planning Coalition!

On behalf of South Shore, The Planning Coalition has accomplished so much this year, including:

  • Good Foods South Shore – In the absence of a viable grocery store, TPC has established a successful and well-attended year-round farmer’s market in collaboration with Real Men Charities, Inc.
  • Pop-Up Diva Holiday Boutique at the Quarry –  This recent initiative to support local artists and vendors has received amazing media coverage and is bustling!
  • Full-Service Grocery Store Initiative – Despite a frustrating process, TPC has led an advocacy and media effort to ensure that your demand for a high-quality, affordable grocery is heard and prioritized by the city.
  • Exchange Ideas community forums – We have brought many political and system leaders, including five mayoral candidates, to listen to our needs and work alongside us to identify solutions to community problems.
  • WALK SHOP DINE South Shore – An initiative that increased the patronage of our businesses and restaurants, showcasing our community assets.
  • South Shore Current – The inaugural issue released in November was birthed out of TPC’s media and rebranding committee. Together we are telling our own stories and getting the good news out about “The Cultural Soul Coast of Chicago”!

On the horizon:

  • South Shore Candidates’ Forum – In the new year, join us as we hear from 5th, 7th and 8th aldermanic candidates as they share their vision for our wards and answer your questions!

Help sustain the amazing work that we’ve accomplished this year and usher TPC into a new season of community advocacy, engagement, organizing and development!
