Dear Friend:
I want to tell you about a new and exciting piece of legislation that I introduced earlier this month called, “Fund Education First.” This bill would send more of our state education dollars to the schools that need it the most, keep the governor from using our kids as bargaining chips in future budget negotiations, and prevent any future cuts to education. If passed, CPS would gain an additional $200 million immediately.
Every politician says that education is their top priority — but this bill actually puts our money where our mouth is. It’s also the kind of structural change that can help us avoid future property tax hikes. I explain more of that in the video below.
