We are excited to announce that the 10th Ward will be hosting a world class bike race again this year! The Intelligentsia Cup powered by SRAM is a premiere pro/amateur cycling series in and around the Chicagoland area. Each day features high-energy cycling action complemented by kids’ activities, entertainment, food & drink, merchant sales and more! Intelligentsia Cup has returned to South Chicago! 87th & South Lakeshore Drive will be closed on July 24, 2018 for a “kernmesse- style” race. Races will run from 9:30am- 6:45pm.

The South Chicago ‘Kermesse’ Road Race, presented by Ald. Susan Sadlowski Garza, features a course that evokes the wide-open, wind-swept roads of Belgium. This event will be run as a “road race” under USA Cycling rules (i.e. no free lap).
