Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot will participate in TRiiBE Tuesday: A Town Hall with Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, a virtual event co-hosted by INN and the “Lens on Lightfoot” partners, on Tuesday, Sept 29 at 6 p.m. Since taking office in 2019, Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot has made big promises, difficult decisions and faced unprecedented circumstances. During her inauguration speech, Lightfoot promised to invest in schools, improve safety for every neighborhood, and address Chicago’s history of corruption in politics. But some residents of Chicago question her progress so far: Is she still committed to delivering on some of the proposed progressive reform policies and actions she spoke about? You can hear from Lightfoot herself on Sept. 29, as she’s questioned about her administration’s actions from the “Lens on Lightfoot” collaboration. Tues, Sept. 29th | (6PM-7PM) Watch Live | youtube.com/thetriibe OR facebook.com/thetriibe Please feel free to invite friends and family members to watch as well! Admission is FREE. More about the “Lens on Lightfoot” collaboration: In November 2019, seven local news organizations came together under the auspices of the Institute for Nonprofit News to launch the Lens on Lightfoot project, an ongoing news series that aims to examine the Lightfoot administration’s progress toward its stated goals. We’ve invited Mayor Lightfoot to the next TRiiBE Tuesday to discuss that coverage. Participating newsrooms are the Better Government Association, Block Club Chicago, Chalkbeat Chicago, The Chicago Reporter, The Daily Line, La Raza and The TRiiBE. Each participating newsroom has brought its own editorial focus to the project, which will culminate on Oct. 31, 2020. Together the news organizations have provided ongoing and comprehensive reporting on the Lightfoot administration. The Lens on Lightfoot project is supported by the Institute for Nonprofit News and the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.
