Creative Artist Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Our organization started January 6, 2005. Melvin King and Quinton Foreman were among the originators of the organization. Our monthly meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at the South Shore Cultural Center. 71st and South Shore Drive – 3rd floor – 12:30 p.m. ALL are welcome to attend and we hope you’ll want to join our group. We give month long exhibitions at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago and other venues a few times a year. The admission is always free to the public. We have paint-outs at the Cultural Center where artists bring their materials and equipment and paint outside as the public watches, meets and communicates with the artists. We also participate in other art shows as a group and as individuals throughout the year. CAA functions as a place where artists of all levels can network, exchange ideas, support and teach each other. We also welcome non artists as members. We are organizing classes to teach various art and craft techniques to the public at park districts. Our ultimate goal is to create an African American Art Museum in the Chicago area. http://www.creativeartistassociation.org/

This piece was also on display at TOCCO, 1266 N. Milwaukee (Oct 2012) I attended an open studio and did another quick sketch of the same live model with charcoal, then went home and touched it up with..
